Spring Treats
Ranunculus are beautiful and inexpensive flowers that begin blooming as early as April and go well into the summer. I especially love them as a fresh cut bunch or centerpiece arrangement - not only because they are feminine and modern- but also because they LAST. If you buy them when the bulbs are tightly closed and give them a fresh cut they can last anywhere from 1-1/2 -2 weeks. They usually stand straight but I decided to keep my stems longer and put them in a shorter vase to see what would happen. The stems all started to take on different shapes and curve into one another which made for a more organic look. As the petals really begin to skirt they reveal such beauty and complexity- great reminders to have in anyone's home. Happy Spring!

Our Little Artist
Sofia's favorite activity to do at home. She has very specific requests when she paints though. Shirt must be off. Music on (preferably "Hell Yes" by Beck). And several paintbrushes must accompany her (even though she usually resorts to the hands when the creativity becomes too much). Then on Tuesdays from 5-7 we invite the neighbors over, hang her work from a clothes line, sip Pinot Noir and discuss the emotion involved.
